The new SsangYong Korando

Although it is not yet clear whether the SsangYong factory will close its doors or not (it seems, however that it will be purchased by the Indian manufacturer Mahindra), the Korean manufacturer SsangYong announces a new modern compact SUV called Korando.
Korando design is less controversial than the other models from the Korean manufacturer. The car was already prefigured by the SsangYong C200 concept model, which has received a very good feedback from the public.
Korando has a particularly recommended size for urban traffic: 4.4 meters length, width and height of 1.83 meters to 1.7 meters. In other words, the new vehicle is a direct competitor for Volkswagen Tiguan or the new Hyundai ix35.
The recommended engine is a 2.0 liter diesel common-rail, developing 175 bhp, a sign that the model has big expectations in the compact SUV area. During 2011, the car will receive a basic petrol engine, which will have only 115 hp.
In Europe, the starting price will be around 21,000 euros, while the top version will go up to 28,000 euros, but it will be very rich in terms of equipment.
